Adrienne Hood is a mother of three and has four grandchildren. She retired from the U.S. Air Force in 2020 as a Master Sergeant, and is a Columbus native who grew up in Linden. Adrienne graduated from Columbus City Schools and has her bachelor's in criminal justice administration and her master's in human services. A servant leader at her core, she serves in her church and has served on several grassroots boards over the years.
Adrienne is passionate about the changes that need to take place in our city which will protect everyone regardless of their zip code. She is most passionate about public safety, mental healthcare, affordable housing, and public education.

Shaker Heights Ballot Initiative Announcement
We are pleased to endorse this great initiative!
FOR PUBLIC SAFETY REFORMS
Shaker Heights has seen a rise in violent crimes, including the shooting of two 14-year
old girls. Shaker Heights is now more dangerous than nearly 40% of American cities,
according to Neighborhood Scout. This comes as a result of explicit bias in policing and
failure to take new approaches to public safety. According to Shaker Heights Police
Department Data, the city issued 71% of traffic tickets to Black drivers in 2022, even though
Black people make up only 36% of the city's population.
According to the most recent Shaker Heights Police Department CALEA accreditation report officers have directed over 360 uses
of force, almost 100% of those uses of force were against Black or Hispanic people. Shaker
citizens are petitioning for changes to address bias in policing and a strong commitment to
public safety.
The Shaker Citizens for Fair Ticketing PAC, a coalition of Shaker Heights residents,
announces this ballot initiative to reduce brutality, increase public safety, and make police
jobs safer through the following policies;
- Expanding the city's Crisis Intervention Team by creating a newly formed Non-Violent Community Administrators Department that will distribute tickets, patrol neighborhoods and respond to non-violent crimes and mental health services needs. Create a Civilian Oversight Board to fast-track community complaints, modernize
- Shaker Heights, and review officers and newly established community administrators.
- Create and curate a modernized, transparent, public police records database that tracks ticketing and uses of force to recognize bias and other challenges to equitable practices, and ensure easier complaint submission.
In communities across the United States, these reforms have been proven to reduce gun
violence, decrease unnecessary arrests, and curb incidents of police brutality, all while
making police jobs safer. Our campaign hopes to unite with law enforcement, city officials,
racial equity activists, and all city residents to move the needle on mental health, public
safety, racial equity and ultimately improve the City of Shaker Heights.
