Hi — This is Terry Wahls and Jackie Reger - or as our son Zach used to call us, "Tall Mom" and "Short Mom.”

Zach has never been one who’s been afraid of a fight. 15 years ago, Zach stood in front of the Iowa legislature to fight for our family when Republican politicians in Des Moines were trying to reverse Iowa's recognition of marriage equality.

While Zach's speech in front of the Legislature unexpectedly went viral, it didn’t shock us — because standing up for what he believes in is just a part of who Zach is.

Now, 15 years later, he's running to bring that grit and determination to the U.S. Senate. And we couldn’t be more proud – as both Zach’s moms and as Iowans.
