The Supreme Court’s decision in Louisiana v. Callais is one of the biggest rollbacks of our civil rights in living memory, as today’s decision has gutted what remained of the Voting Rights Act and threatens the right to vote for tens of millions of Black voters and other voters of color in the United States.
Today’s decision puts fair district maps for voters nationwide at risk, as MAGA Supreme Court justices have now denied protection against both racial and partisan gerrymandering. It will exacerbate environmental injustice and endanger the health of disenfranchised communities across the country. While today’s decision is devastating, now is when we need your support to help reelect our champions who are committed to passing comprehensive voting rights and fair map protections.
