Red Card for Terrorist Propaganda

As fans around the world turn their attention to the opening day of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, we're raising concerns about one of the journalists expected to cover the event.

Based upon research by investigative journalist David Collier and Max Radford, which revealed that London-based beIN Sports journalist Ibrahim Khadra has a history of publicly praising terrorist organizations and expressing support for acts of terrorism – like calling the October 7 Hamas massacre “far more exciting than football” and describing the murder of Jews as a “heroic operation” – The Lawfare Project submitted a formal referral to Secretary of State Marco Rubio and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) urging that his visa be revoked and that removal proceedings be commenced.

On Tuesday, Ken Reid, leader of our #EndJewHatred DC–Maryland–Virginia chapter, traveled to Capitol Hill and delivered The Lawfare Project’s referral letter to Senator Ted Cruz (TX), as well as Representatives Michael McCaul (TX), Andrew Garbarino (NY), and Tim Walberg (MI). The effort reinforced that support for terrorism and Jew-hatred have no place in journalism, sports, or public discourse.

This kind of advocacy matters. By showing up in person, putting the referral directly in front of lawmakers, and making sure the issue could not be ignored, Ken helped turn a legal filing into a public call for accountability.

ICE urged to snatch World Cup writer over abhorrent pro-terrorist material

“This is an individual who would not have qualified to be given a visa based on his activities including his espousal of support for foreign terrorist organizations, and even though the visa appears to have been granted, and he appears to be in the US, that is something that he can absolutely have his visa revoked for, and he can be removed from the country,” a lawyer with the Lawfare Project, Gerard Filitti, told The California Post.

“We’re asking the government to do just that,” he added.

Filitti said the government was informed on Monday, but has yet to respond to the inquiry. The group also hand-delivered documents detailing Khadra’s action to Sen. Ted Cruz’s office and to other members on Capitol Hill.

The lawyer says the most damaging part of Khadra’s continued presence in the United States is his ability to espouse his pro-terror views in front of soccer fans.

“A press pass is a credential to cover an event,” he said. “It is not license to use that access to broadcast support for designated terrorist organizations, and that’s precisely what he has done inside stadiums.”

The legal group has specifically requested that Khadra’s visa be revoked and that he be removed from the United States by ICE. Not doing so would be allowing the journalist to convert “a World Cup credential into a platform for terrorist glorification on American soil.”
