💫 Starknet will open up stacking by the end of the year

According to CoinDesk,  Layer 2 network Starknet will open up staking in its ecosystem by the end of 2024, developer StarkWare announced Wednesday. The news was announced at the Ethereum Community Conference in Brussels, Belgium, by the company's CEO Eli Ben-Sasson.

Ben-Sasson presented a proposal for improving Starknet to the community, which proposes that users could choose whether to become a staker, and the rewards for participation would be proportional to the number of STRK tokens delivered.

💦Lionel Messi promotes a new Solana-based memcoin 

The football legend is touting a new memcoin called Watercoin (WATER) on his social media accounts, which is supposedly aimed at raising awareness and addressing environmental issues. Lionel Messi is promoting $WATER through Instagram Stories.

According to WaterCoin's documentation, the project aims to raise awareness of water-related issues with the goal of becoming a full-fledged environmental coin in the future. WaterCoin's roadmap outlines four stages, from initial token presale, centralized exchange listing and celebrity partnerships, to the final stage of becoming a "charity-focused environmental currency." According to a report by Messari analysts, the number of daily active addresses on TON exceeded the number of active addresses on ETH. At this rate, TON will be able to onboard 500M users by 2028.

🕵️ CoinDesk: ex-employee of Polychain Capital secretly collaborated with Eclipse Labs

Cryptocurrency venture capital giant Polychain has accused former employee Neeraj Pant of making a behind-the-scenes deal with portfolio company Eclipse Labs that violated the fund's rules.

According to three sources close to the situation and internal Eclipse documents reviewed by CoinDesk, Neil Somani, the former CEO of Eclipse Labs, quietly allocated Pant a 5% stake in the upcoming Eclipse crypto token in September 2022 – just days after Pant instructed Polychain to lead the company's preliminary $6M funding round. The stake was eventually reduced to 1.33%, which amounts to $13.3M.

According to sources, Somani promised the tokens as an incentive for Pant to secure funding for Polychain.
