It's no exaggeration to say that the future of our climate depends on the outcome of the upcoming elections. If pro-polluter candidates win, our planet will be in grave danger. That's why — with less than one week until Election Day — we're asking for YOUR help in supporting three critical climate champions who are vying for reelection: Sharice Davids (KS-03), Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), and Matthew Cartwright (PA-08). All three of these pro-climate leaders voted for the Inflation Reduction Act, the most significant action Congress has ever taken to address climate change, make investments in renewable energy, and create green jobs. Losing any one of these three incumbents could be devastating to our chances in taking back the House majority! Representative Davids is currently leading the effort to expand wind energy in her state and has worked on economic development projects in Native American communities with a focus on sustainability. She also voted on a bill that would give tax breaks to Kansans purchasing electric vehicles or upgrading the energy efficiency of their homes. Representative Kaptur has supported a permanent ban on drilling in the Great Lakes. She previously chaired the Energy and Water Subcommittee and enacted the largest climate change bill in House history. She looks forward to continuing to defend America's freshwater resources and fighting to address the climate crisis if elected this year. As Vice Chair of the Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition, Representative Cartwright hopes that holding this seat in Pennsylvania will make it easier to pass climate legislation at the federal level.
