April was a major month for the movement, anchored by #EndJewHatred Day on April 29. Across the country, it was recognized through a wave of state and local proclamations, alongside events and commemorations highlighting its significance.
We will be sharing a full national roundup of these efforts soon. In the meantime, we are deeply grateful to the activists who brought #EndJewHatred Day to their communities this year. Thank you!
If you played a role, please reach out to our Director of Mobilization, Adar Rubin, at adar@endjewhatred.com so we can ensure your contributions are included!
Activism in Action
On April 29, we gathered in New York City for an impactful half-day summit, Unite Against Extremism. The event brought together interfaith leaders, educators, policymakers, media voices, and advocates to confront the rising influence of extremist ideologies. The day underscored that alliance-building and sustained engagement are essential tools in the fight against hate.

Among the many proclamations we’ll highlight in our upcoming roundup, the Michigan Senate last week adopted a bipartisan resolution recognizing #EndJewHatred Day. The measure was led for the third consecutive year by MI State Senators Lana Theis and Jeremy Moss, and this year’s resolution notably included amended language acknowledging the March 12 attack on Temple Israel in West Bloomfield.

On April 30, the City of Miami issued a proclamation recognizing #EndJewHatred Day The effort was organized in partnership with the JCC of Miami and spearheaded by one of our incredible activists, Jen Einslen. The proclamation, approved the day before, was formally highlighted at the JCC and Holocaust Memorial Education Center’s David Schaecter Day event. During the event, #EndJewHatred Day pledges were distributed, and the proclamation was presented in person.
Earlier in the month, Michelle Ahdoot, Director of Strategy and Programming, joined the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center alongside community leaders and partner organizations for a press conference on The Sacred Act.

Following conversations with Congressman Tom Suozzi, we voiced strong support for this commonsense legislation aimed at protecting the right to safely practice religion in houses of worship without harassment or intimidation.
On April 20, we held an interfaith panel at the USC Chabad. Attendees heard firsthand testimonies from Soraya Deen, founder of Muslim Women Speakers & Nigerian Women Lead, and John Mirisch, former mayor of Beverly Hills and current council member, gaining insight into what true allyship requires in today’s climate.
Weekly Wins
Weekly Wins are a reminder that consistent, coordinated action drives results. Every email sent, petition signed, and message amplified builds pressure—and that pressure leads to accountability. Across April, our community stayed engaged, worked in sync, and delivered outcomes that reached local governments, school systems, and university campuses alike.
In our WhatsApp Action Items Groups, Michelle Ahdoot continues to keep supporters connected to the broader movement, sharing updates that reflect the impact of sustained advocacy. Alongside the dedicated team at Pens for Swords and a committed network of writing activists, the momentum has remained steady and effective. The wins below reflect what happens when people stay involved and follow through.
Oak Park BDS Ballot Measure Rejected
In Oak Park, IL, a proposed ballot initiative aimed at advancing a BDS measure that falsely accused Israel of genocide raised serious concerns about spreading antisemitic narratives at the local level. Thanks to our efforts, the measure was first postponed and ultimately rejected, stopping the initiative from moving forward!
NYC Department of Education Faces Federal Civil Rights Investigation
For years we have raised urgent concerns about antisemitic conduct within the New York City Department of Education and pushed for accountability at the highest levels. By working alongside community members and partner organizations, we applied sustained pressure that helped prompt the federal government to launch a civil rights investigation into the department’s handling of antisemitism-related complaints.
DOJ Investigates University of Washington Response to Antisemitism
We called on Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon to address the University of Washington’s handling of antisemitism. Following our efforts, the U.S. Department of Justice authorized a civil rights investigation into the university’s response.
Duke SJP Chapter Suspended
At Duke University, the Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) chapter faced mounting criticism after a controversial social media post that contributed to concerns about a hostile campus climate. Thanks to our email campaign, the university suspended the group.
