On Wednesday morning, we gathered outside Poetica Coffee in Brooklyn following the shop's public refusal to serve a Jewish Member of Congress.

Community members from across New York came together to send a clear message: discrimination against Jews cannot be normalized, excused, laundered through dog-whistles, or ignored. Despite the presence of counter-protesters, we remained peaceful, united, and focused on defending Jewish civil rights.

We cannot be silent when slurs and pretext are used to discriminate. We need to stop pretending this is about lobbying, foreign policy, or Israel. Refusing service to a Jewish person because he is Jewish is discrimination. It is illegal. It is a civil rights violation. And we will not stop fighting for our rights!
