An Incredible #EndJewHatred Day at the Nova Exhibition!
#EndJewHatred Day at the Nova Exhibition in Toronto was a total success! MP Melissa Lantsman (MP – Thornhill) received an award from #EndJewHatred founder Brooke Goldstein for issuing the first Canadian #EndJewHatred Day Proclamation. The audience heard from Nova survivor Michal Ohana who gave a moving speech about the horrific atrocities witnessed and experienced that day and the importance of unity to heal the Jewish community.
April 29 has been proclaimed as #EndJewHatred Day by elected officials in Canada and the United States as a commitment to social justice for the Jewish people and unity against Jew-hatred.

"April 29 is a dedicated day of empowerment and solidarity to combat antisemitism," said Brooke Goldstein, co-founder of the #EndJewHatred movement. "#EndJewHatred Day is not just a remembrance, it is part of a civil rights movement. It reframes Jewish identity in the context of equal protection and dignity. It reflects the growing recognition that Jew-hatred, often overlooked, downplayed, or outright denied, must be actively addressed both through activism and the legal system."
Jews in Canada continue to face growing antisemitic threats, especially in the wake of the October 7 terrorist attacks against Israel. This year, #EndJewHatred Day saw a record number Canadian elected officials commit to issue proclamations for #EndJewHatred Day showing a turning tide in the fight for Jewish civil rights.

"It has been my privilege to be a voice of moral clarity and common sense in Ottawa," said Melissa Lantsman, MP. "I will always call out Jew hatred — especially from the individuals who are supposed to be leading our country, our province and our institutions. Our commitment to justice and equality compels us to stand firmly in support of Jewish civil rights, ensuring that every Canadian can live free from discrimination and fear."
"On Tuesday, I had the honour of delivering a member's statement on #EndJewHatredDay and the privilege of attending the NOVA Exhibition - a powerful and moving experience, said Laura Smith MPP (Thornhill) who was also in attendance." Hatred should never be normalized. We stand proudly in solidarity with the Jewish community and against antisemitism in all its forms."
Earlier in the day, MPP Smith read a statement on #EndJewHatred Day into the record of the Ontario Parliament.
Attendees heard a panel discussion that included Ms. Goldstein, Ofir Amir, co-founder of the Nova Music Festival who was present during the October 7 attack and helped establish the Tribe of Nova Foundation to support victims and bereaved families, Raheel Reza, an internationally renowned human rights advocate who speaks against extremism and promotes freedom and democracy, and award-winning journalist Stella Escobedo.

The panel addressed the urgent need to advocate for truth in an era where media bias, radicalization, and disinformation have distorted public understanding and fueled division. They emphasized that even in the face of widespread false narratives, the fight for civil rights must persist, especially in the battle against Jew-hatred. Their message was clear: silence is not an option, and standing up for justice and truth is a responsibility we all share.
In addition to MPP Laura Smith, the following Ontario MPPs also issued proclamations recognizing April 29 as #EndJewHatred Day: Logan Kanapathi, Dawn Gallagher Murphy, Aris Babikian, Anthony Leardi, Stan Cho, and Michelle Cooper — a powerful show of support for Jewish civil rights and a united stand against Jew-hatred.
