Daniel Di Martino is a Fellow at the Manhattan Institute and a PhD candidate in Economics at Columbia University. His research focuses on immigration, including selection, assimilation, and highly skilled immigration.
Born and raised in Venezuela, Daniel experienced firsthand the devastating consequences of socialism. After coming to the United States in 2016, he has dedicated his work to educating others on how these policies impacted his homeland and advocating for freedom and opportunity.
Daniel has appeared on major national media outlets such as Fox News and CNN, and his writing has been featured in USA Today, National Review, City Journal, and the New York Post. He is also a frequent speaker on college campuses and at events across the country.
In addition, he serves on the board of advisors for Young America’s Foundation’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Free Enterprise and is a member of the New Jersey State Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. He is also the founder of the Dissident Project, which educates students about the realities of socialist regimes.
